About this vacancy

The post holder will be delivering Property Management support to the Capital Development and Property Directorate and Finance Division as well as supporting the Property Services Team in delivering the Estate Strategy and Masterplanning Corporate Project across the Trust. The role will involve providing high quality Property related transactional activity working closely alongside Operational Teams to support delivery of the Trust objectives.

Reporting directly to the Senior Property Manager, the post holder will be a key member of the Property Team and support the Associate Director of Property ensuring that the use of resources is both understood and maximised. In addition, the postholder will deputise for the Senior Property Manager, as appropriate, demonstrating specialist property knowledge, analytical support and clear presentation of Complex Property and other information to Clinical and Non-Clinical colleagues. They will constructively and positively challenge all aspects of the performance of the Trust estate in Space Utilistation and Property related matters.

This role will support with enhancing relationships between the Capital Development and Property Directorate and Clinical and Non-Clinical Teams in performance management, use of resources, Cost Improvement Development, Masterplan, Research and Learning.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide effective management of Trust properties to ensure that property assets are transacted, reported and used strategically for the benefit of the Trust in its support of patient care. The post holder will

  • Utilise specialist skills in the management of Trust land and properties including estate rationalisation projects, landlord-tenant issues, record keeping, compiling reports, completing annual appraisals / returns, rationalisation/disposal of surplus land and property, assessing estate condition, statutory compliance, functional suitability and space utilisation
  • Participate in the development and roll out of a computerised property and asset management system
  • Identify and contribute to opportunities in Cost Improvement Programmes (CIPs)
  • Assist with the development of business cases for property transactions and contribute to UHSussex 5-10 year Estates Strategy & Masterplan corporate project and associated site development plans
