Adecco Public Sector are currently partnered with a key Regulatory body to recruit a Records Management & Information Governance Lead for an initial 12-month fixed-term contract. This role offers remote working (with occasional team meet-ups), NHS pension scheme membership and a generous 32.5 days annual leave (plus 8 Bank Holidays).

The Role

You will play a key part in supporting the organisation to achieve its vision by leading and being accountable for overall Records Management and Information Governance.

Reporting to the Data, Technology and Development (DTD) Project Manager, you will lead and be the subject matter expert on records management, information governance and data protection across the organisation, playing a key role in the development of a robust framework that embeds best practice and delivers compliance with relevant national standards.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for a candidate with previous experience working in a healthcare environment who has sound knowledge and experience of delivering a full Records Management (RM) and (IG) Information Governance service, across an organisation including information sharing and transfer, legislation, and training.

The Records Management & Information Governance Lead (RMIGL) will direct the overall management and planning of this function, reviewing, updating and implementing systems and processes to deliver compliance across all of the organisation's activities.

To be successful in the role you will be able to display the following skills and experience:

  • Ownership of RM, IG and Data Protection (DP) related policies, processes and standard operating procedures (SoPs)
  • Providing expert advice to ensure legal aspects of records management are considered and adhered to manage electronic and paper records (including storage, retention, disposal and archiving)
  • Leading annual Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DSPT) assessments in Category 1 organisations, with sound awareness of the transition from the DSPT to the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF), collaborating with leads to ensure compliance against CAF standards
  • Providing expert advice on all aspects of Data Protection and Data Protection Impact Assessments Data Protection Officer, including personal data breaches
  • Responding to Subject Access Requests, IG and Data Protection incidents, ensuring compliance in accordance with UK GDPR/Data Protection 2018 and other relevant legislation such as Access to Healthcare Records Act 1990, and Environmental Information Regulation (EIR)
  • Supporting and developing our Information Asset Registers and Register of Processing Activities in line with the guidance within the General Data Protection Regulation
  • Developing metrics and reports to track DP & IG incidents and develop relevant learning modules for all staff
  • Managing and tracking relevant risks and issues, escalating where appropriate.
  • Collaborating and engaging with senior stakeholders including the SIRO and Caldicott Guardian for advice and guidance, approvals and escalation and external agencies including the Information Commissioners' Office (ICO) and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
