Job Description:
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the procurement process and negotiating contracts for the establishment of two control centres for our expanding operations. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in large contract delivery and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Lead negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and legal stakeholders to secure favourable terms and conditions for contracts related to control centre construction.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure alignment of procurement activities.
Develop and implement procurement strategies that mitigate risks and maximise value throughout the project life-cycle.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in all procurement activities.
Manage supplier relationships and performance, including monitoring delivery schedules, resolving disputes, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior members of the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Proven buying experience, with a focus on large contract delivery and infrastructure projects within the utilities sector.
Strong negotiation skills and a track record of successfully lead complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and commercial terms and conditions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
