Dats Recruitment seeks a Senior Cost Engineer for a 12-month contract within IR35, at a rate of up to 56.06 per hour (Umbrella or PAYE equivalent). The position is based in Aldermaston and offered through our client's company.
What does the role of a Senior Cost Engineer involve?
As a Senior Cost Engineer, you will be overseeing and ensuring the quality and consistency of data within the business or organisation. Implementing procedures, processes, and systems to maintain data quality. You will manage the capacity and deployment of Business Management team members, prepare, monitor, and control forecasts and budgets for projects (including change control), and interrogate systems and performance to determine actual expenditure and project accruals.
In addition to these tasks, the Senior Cost Engineer will prepare cost reports that include trend analysis and early warnings when necessary. Perform, and support other Cost Engineer requirements as requested and are expected to maintain high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality while being a great team player.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct full and detailed SPI, CPI variance analysis, and subsequent root cause analysis.
- Provide narrative, recommendations, and recovery planning according to monthly reporting timescales.
- Establish the Project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
- Lead the preparation of cost studies using historical data.
- Develop benchmarking information to meet specific needs.
- Provide trended data to the Project Manager based on performance and emerging trends.
- Track manpower productivity and analyse time booked to projects.
- Assess resource usage versus planned, resource constraints, etc.
- Make relevant recommendations to the Project Manager.
