About this role
The Senior Site Manager will be responsible for Clynelish and Brora Distilleries and this truly is an amazing opportunity for someone who is an inspirational leader to drive outstanding performance by strategically building and running operations to achieve future business objectives.
You will ensure site operations align with all statutory requirements and Diageo standards, eg Customs and Excise, Health and Safety, environmental issues, etc. This will involve crafting site business processes and ensure they are followed in order to ensure product quality, plant cleanliness and maintenance standards are met or exceeded and that the quality of externally purchased materials conforms to Diageo specifications.
Innovation is key in this role as you will be proactive in seeing opportunities to continually improve all site production processes and cultivate the change process. This will involve strong communication skills with a number of internal and external partners in order to provide clear team leadership in achieving agreed site targets as well as challenge established practices to enhance profit and improve on budget, volume, cost and efficiency targets. You will frequently collaborate closely with the Site Operations Managers, Performance Improvement Leads, Site Management Coordinator and Operations Director to review operational and performance issues. Some distilleries have Visitor Brand Home facilities and you will work in conjunction with them to improve their brand and support efficiency where appropriate.
You will actively support, empower and mentor all employees in achieving personal development seeks and support all agreed training and development programs. The role will involve coaching of team members and you will develop an inclusive workplace environment that will improve all employees, both as individuals and as teams, understanding of and contribution to business and marketing objectives.
About you
You will be a true leader and role model with a background in production management in a high-quality process industry with demanding production, efficiency and financial targets. You will ensure the teams are encouraged and have everything they need to focus on standard methodologies and support them through this. You will have a thorough technical understanding of the malt and malt whisky manufacturing processes, including industry-wide issues in order to implement best practice.
This role is for someone with strong project management experience as the role will require strategically planning and building continuous improvement plans and taking the site and teams through organisational change in order to achieve each of the sites production targets and deliver the agreed financial budget for all sites.
