Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our award winning company, based in the centre of Nottingham. You will work closely with our Construction Director, Managing Director and in house Architects and Site Managers.
We construct new builds, and residential conversions and specialise in Supported Living.
You will be responsible for managing costs related to construction projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget and meet quality standards. Your expertise in cost control and communication with contractors and merchants will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct cost estimates and prepare budgets for construction projects
- Source and obtain competitive prices for materials, equipment, and labor
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and identify any potential cost overruns or savings
- Prepare and submit progress reports, payment applications, and final accounts
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify compliance with contractual requirements
- Evaluate variations and claims submitted by contractors and recommend appropriate actions
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to the project
- Visit site monthly for bank drawdowns
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques
- Proficient in using computer software for quantity take-offs and cost estimation
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

We have sites from Sheffield in the North and Northampton in the South, with the majority around Nottingham and Leicester and we are growing by 30% per annum.
