Salary is from £80,000 to £120,000 (dependant on experience) plus bonus.

A family-owned private property investment and development company based in South West London is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for their new developments, and existing portfolio and to be the key driver in bringing the cost management function in-house.

As a business they invest, develop and regenerate property and have a strong focus on the commercial, retail, and hotel real estate market. Their property portfolio spreads across Central London and is valued at £600 million and consists of 700,000 sqft of commercial office, retail, leisure, and hotel assets.

Reporting directly to the Construction Director of the business you will be responsible for:

  • Taking the cost management lead on a flagship development for the business valued at circa £ 20 million.

  • Managing 2/3 projects at any one time from inception to completion that value from £1 million to £100 million.

  • Working closely with the Asset Management team on new acquisitions and the feasibility of new developments.

  • Oversee external and internal teams and stakeholders.

In support of the Commercial Manager, the Quantity Surveyor will be required to provide commercial advice across the business, advising on procurement strategies and managing external suppliers (contractors, cost consultants, designers, etc.) to protect our interests from a financial, commercial and risk perspective. This role would be suitable for a quantity surveyor who also has a strong appreciation of project management and a desire to work outside of the traditional quantity surveyor role.

Key requirements:

  • Degree qualified.

  • Member of RICS ideal but not essential.

  • Wide-ranging experience of subcontract commercial management and procurement.

  • Previous experience in a client-side, consultancy, or main contractor quantity surveying role of a similar asset portfolio.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Intelligent and strategic mindset.
