Title: Town Planner Senior Town Planner

Location: Stratford Upon Avon

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals through the planning system
• Contribute to the preparation of Design & Access Statements and other planning supporting documents
• Preparation of Scope of Works and initial Briefing Notes for projects
• Reviewing reports prepared by external consultants, ie Flood Risk Assessments, Transport Statements, Ecology Reports
• Undertaking site appraisals to establish development potential, including site visits, detailed research of planning histories, policy analysis and interpretation of material considerations
• Preparing written representations to development plan documents
• Keeping up-to-date with local and national planning policy and guidance
• Monitoring timeframes for development plan document consultation stages
• Attending public consultation events
• Engaging with Local Planning Authorities, Neighbourhood Plan Groups, Parish Councils, external consultants and clients

Role Requirements - Key Skills

• 2 - 5 years of relevant town planning experience
• Relevant undergraduate and post graduate qualifications
• Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute or close to completion
• IT proficient
• Report writing skills and attention to detail
• Full driving licence
• Commercially focused
