SUPPORTED HOUSING SERVICE MANAGER - ROCHDALE
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a 42-bed supported housing project based in Rochdale on an ongoing, temporary basis with temp to perm potential after a minimum of 12 weeks.
Our client aims to enhance and enrich the lives of individuals by creating a non-discriminatory, non-judgemental, safe, supportive and friendly environment, providing quality supported housing to assist in reducing homelessness for the social excluded, whilst empowering the individual and promoting independent living.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Dealing with complex tenant cases, including those with very limited support to resolve issues, enabling tenants to sustain their tenancies.
- To assure need and risk assessments and support plans in place which are developed with the service user ensuring a high standard of agreed outcomes are achieved.
- Monitoring support/utlity arrears with tenants and feeding back to management, assisting tenants on payment plans if necessary.
- Monitoring and dealing with breaches of tenancy, dealing with complaints, nuisance, harassment and tenancy disputes alongside management - proactively reporting back to management on ongoing serious cases.
- Ensuring the building meets all health and safety requirements, including checking and following up on inspections and audits.
- Processing referrals onto the system and interviewing potential new residents.
- Support and lead on scheme meetings with management on a bi-weekly basis to provide feedback on the running of the building.
- Line managerial responsibility of 1 Support Worker - supporting a caseload of tenants within the scheme.
- Establishing and maintaining links with a range of agencies within the local area as and when necessary.
- Desirable experience of working with homeless people with a range of social issues, including asylum seekers and refugees.
- Good level of managerial competencies.
- Good understanding of equal opportunities.
- Experience of ascertaining and assessing the needs of individuals.
- Experience of networking and using a multi-agency approach.
- Good knowledge of welfare rights and housing benefits system.
- Good knowledge of current, local and central government housing acts.
- Prepared to work unsociable hours if requested.
- Valid UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
- Hourly rates of up to £25.00 per hour
- Weekly pay
- Option to be paid via PAYE or Umbrella
- Temp to perm opportunity
