Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Project Controller to join our team and support the Project/Programme Controls Manager in managing and maintaining project control systems for large, high-value projects/programmes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in liaising with various business functions, delivering progress and performance information, and providing expertise in project controls practices. Additionally, this role involves line management responsibility for one or more professional staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Expert Application: Apply expert understanding of Project Management & Controls (PM&C) techniques and knowledge of PM&C toolsets (e.g., EVM, Risk, Change) to produce project controls deliverables.
- Coaching and Development: Coach and develop others, sharing skills and understanding to enhance the capabilities of the team.
- Reporting and Meetings: Lead Weekly/Monthly Project Reports, including CSR (Contract Status Report), retrieve, record, and present project information. Support the facilitation/chairing of meetings.
- Lifecycle Management (LCM): Lead project phase review preparations, ensuring deliverables meet LCM requirements. Support bid and tendering processes by gathering and compiling data.
- Earned Value Management (EVM): Act as the point of contact for centralized EVM reporting and data governance.
- Risk and Opportunity Management: Act as the point of contact for project/programme/business risk and opportunity process, including expertise in schedule risk analysis.
- Change Management: Act as the point of contact for project/programme/business and lead monthly deliverables and process governance.
- Management Plan Ownership: Support the development of the Project Management Plan and the creation/maintenance of specific management plans (e.g., risk, change).
- Document Management/Configuration Management: Maintain project documentation in line with project needs and relevant procedures.
Requirements
- Experience within Defence / Central Government / Aviation / Nuclear
- Proven experience in project controls with expertise in EVM, risk management, and change management.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in managing and coordinating project-related processes.
- Knowledge of project management tools and practices.
