Purpose of the role:

The role will be responsible for further developing and implementing the sustainability governance framework/strategy and initiatives across the group, working collaboratively internally/externally, as well as communicating our sustainability goals and achievements to our stakeholders. This will all be performed ensuring that the sustainability strategy aligns with the wider company strategy; and reviewing external standards and initiatives (such as Science Based Target Initiative) to understand how we progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build on current governance, by defining and implementing an enhanced framework.
  • Using the ZCF (Zero Carbon Forum) benchmarking exercise and opportunities review outputs, to devise and implement a programme covering the next 12-24 months, which aligns to our business objectives.
  • Represent Stonegate at ZCF and sit on key relevant working groups, working alongside other hospitality companies delivering for Stonegate and the industry.
  • Collaborate with internal interdependent teams, specifically Comms, Commercial and Property, to scope out and progress sustainability objectives and opportunities.
  • Manage the quarterly ESG steering group.
  • Analyse internal data and report progress as required, including the quarterly TDR submission.
  • Review opportunities to bolster our current and future reporting, including running an exercise to update baselining and looking at more substantial target setting.
  • Write relevant statements as required including the annual accounts TCFD statement.
  • Engage and educate on our sustainability vision and practices to foster a culture of sustainability within the company.
  • Work with functions to review and update ESG related policies.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Passionate about sustainability and committed to making a positive difference in the hospitality industry and the world.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Appropriate qualifications in sustainability, hospitality management, or a related field.
  • Experience in sustainability management, or relevant hospitality industry experience.
