What you'll be doing
We are looking to hire a Senior Talent Manager to lead the performance and talent approach, sourcing, designing, and delivering talent and early careers interventions in line with organisational capability priorities. This is a 9 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of our approach to performance and career management, including assessment of potential, capability, and bench strength to inform recruitment and development strategy and plans
- Lead an annual talent review in the organization to identify capability risks, strengths, and opportunities to attract, develop and retain talent
- Define and deploy a suite of suitable and effective talent assessment tools e.g., EQI, 360 feedback, managing associated software, platforms, or microsites
- Define our early careers engagement plan in line with our business and I&D strategy, building programmes which attract, retain, and accelerate growth of new talent in priority areas of the organisation
- Define and build talent development interventions that support delivery of the business and/or talent strategy e.g., development centres, coaching, mentoring provision to accelerate talent growth and development through the organization
- Report on and evaluate success of talent initiatives, platforms, and interventions to demonstrate a clear return on investment and effective talent management
- Source and manage suitable external supplier relationships which support programme delivery e.g., education partners, universities, colleges, apprenticeship providers
- Keep up to date with, understand, share and/or adopt external best practice for programme management e.g., levy developments, innovation in L&D to ensure effective management of spend e.g., training, levy/grant funds and incentives
What we re looking for
- Fully qualified to CIPD Level 7 or equivalent
- Demonstrable track record of leading talent and succession planning in a large or complex/multi-site business
- Demonstrable success in building credibility with senior leaders in an FMCG or private label business
- Excellent understanding of best practice and innovation in performance, talent, and career management
- Strong consulting skills, able to understand the root causes and identify the problem before proposing the options/solutions
- Project management and coordination experience
- Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills to multiple layered audiences
- Proficient in the use of raw data to draw insight and effect change
- Strong facilitation and delivery skills
- Experience of coaching people/active listener and operating as a mentor
