Trainee Electrical Project Manager - Cambridge - Permanent - Commercial New Build projects
One of the regions leading M&E Building Services companies, with a portfolio of blue-chip projects for clients across the East of England are currently recruiting for a Trainee Electrical Project Manager to be based from their office in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. Working on projects across East Anglia and Home Counties up to the value of £6M. They offer a comprehensive electrical and mechanical installation service across many sectors including Healthcare, Education, R&D and commercial projects. As the Trainee Electrical Project Manager, you will work closely with experienced Electrical Project Managers to gain a better understanding of the full electrical installation process of construction projects. This an exciting opportunity for various levels of applicants from qualified Electrician to step off the tools to Electrical Chargehand who wants to get into a junior project manager position enabling you to learn the concepts and procedures of full project management with the scope of progressing your career into an Electrical Project Manager role. As the Trainee Electrical Project Manager, you will have the following duties and responsibilities: Learning the concepts and procedures of project management and resolving any issues that have been identified Assist with the responsibility for management of all electrical operatives on site (direct / Apprentices / sub-contractors / agency) Assist with allocating the workload accordingly, meeting customer deadlines and maintaining standards and quality of workmanship at all times Assist leading teams of Electricians, Improvers and Mates Assist with ensuring health and safety is maintained Assist with organising materials and sub-contractors Attend site meetings Liaising with other members of the project management team. Successful applicants will have the following attributes and skills: Have hands on ability - preferably Time Served / NVQ qualified Overall kowledge and understanding of a wide variety of electrical systems and their installation methods Good people and motivational skills The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines Responsibility in assuring the installation is of a high standard Keen to learn new skills Be computer literate (MS Office Suite and using a database).
