Job Description: As an Electrical Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing large-scale refurbishment projects from inception to completion. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a key position within our company, requiring a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and a solid background in building services, specifically in mechanical and electrical (M&E) disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage electrical refurbishment projects across the commercial, healthcare, and education sectors, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the work of electrical engineers, subcontractors, and other project team members.
- Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships, addressing their needs, and providing regular project updates.
- Planning and Scheduling: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure all project activities are properly documented and tracked.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure all electrical work meets regulatory standards and client specifications.
- Health and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
- Financial Management: Monitor project costs, prepare financial reports, and manage project budgets effectively.
- Problem Solving: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager or in a similar role within the building services M&E sector.
- Strong background in managing multi-million-pound refurbishment projects in the commercial, healthcare, or education sectors.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage project teams effectively.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering or building services (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ, or equivalent).
